Welcome to SunRise Academy! We are delighted to have you as a visitor to our website and hope that you are able to find the answers to all of your questions. SunRise Academy is dedicated to the education and remediation of students with a wide range of learning and emotional disabilities. We currently serve boys between the ages of 7 and 22, exposing them to a nurturing and culturally enriched curriculum and environment emphasizing the traditional and historical achievements of Africans and African Americans.
SunRise recognizes the importance of parental involvement in the development of young people and therefore welcomes parents to participate in their sons' educational and social development. Parental involvement opportunities include the following:
- class visitations
- monthly workshops
- biannual parent-teacher conferences
- special assemblies and programs
- required annual IEP meetings
