School-Based Learning
School-Based Learning encompasses those areas that serve as identification of vocational strengths, interests and preparation for the student's actual introduction to the workplace.
All students aged 14 and older entering the Academy are interviewed by the Career Counselor and given a battery of vocational tests to help determine their career aptitudes and interests. Students participate in regular career counseling sessions to explore careers of interest. A program will be developed that is relevant to the student’s chosen career interest.
Social skills are integrated through training activities to equip the students with proper work-related etiquette and behaviors to help them achieve success in employment settings. Social skills development is emphasized with role-playing activities and hands-on projects.
